There's A New Power Rising - Join the ride and see what you can do.
Iowa farmers have made great strides in the last decade in helping America
become more renewable and less dependent on foreign oil. But we have a long
way to go and we need your help. The good news is that you don't need to do
much. You can start by looking at these simple things you can do at home.

- Change five normal light bulbs to five fluorescent bulbs. If every house in America did, greenhouse gas emissions would be reduced by 1 trillion tons.
- Support renewable fuels including E85. Ask your local dealers about flex-fuel vehicles and ask your local gas stations about providing E85. If you ask for it, it will come.
- Stop junk mail. Take your name off junk mailing lists by going to www.dmaconsumers.org/consumerassistance.html
- Use water wisely. Local water systems use a lot of energy to purify and distribute.
- Reduce, reuse and recycle.
- Drive smart. Things like checking your tire pressure and tuning your car can greatly increase your gas mileage, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions. And, once again, look for the availability of flex-fuel vehicles and E85.
- Talk about renewable energy. The only way to spread the word about how much renewable energy can help the environment and our future is to tell other people.
- Go to www.epa.gov/climatechange/wycd/index.html. The website is full of suggestions for easy things to do to help.
